I thought the Science Not Guessing video was a creative and simple way to show the difference between area and volume. Having watched the video, I could get my students to work through the formulae to reinforce what the concept is.

I also use it to highlight the fact that sometimes our instincts can be wrong and this is why it is necessary to use scientific processes to check our observations and assumptions. A quick search of the internet produces many links on optical illusions like the following for example
